We were asked to come up with a campaign to help drive sales for the fragrance sector within the QVC Beauty department. After several weeks of research and storyboarding I came up with a personality quiz designed to engage customers and guide them toward suitable fragrance products, presented to the beauty buyers and board. They signed off on my fragrance quiz idea so it was time to get to work on a strategy for implementation.
Photography and Art Direction
I proposed the photography concept, pitched it to the team, and secured approval before moving forward. Once approved, we organised the fragrances into groups, which informed the colour-ways used in the final images. These images began as illustrations created by another designer in my team, they were then enlarged, cut out on coloured card, and arranged around the fragrance bottles. I thought of a unique way to display the fragrance bottles, which I then art-directed during the photoshoot.. The end result exceeded the initial sketches, demonstrating the power of thoughtful staging and creative collaboration.
Designing & Developing the Quiz
I came up with the quiz concept, user flow, and visual design, collaborated closely with a developer to implement the JavaScript functionality and the beauty copywriter who came up with the quiz questions. The quiz was fully coded from scratch using PHP and JavaScript, allowing for a seamless and engaging user experience. This project combined creative design, art direction, and front-end development to deliver a personalised, visually compelling experience for customers.
Bespoke Content
These headers are designed and developed by myself, the buyers created a product list of all the fragrances within each category that brought the pages together. Once the customers completed the quiz they would land on any of these pages with their perfect scent profile picked out. There is an explanation of the scent in the header and share icons to help with engagement
